New Hope just finished a series LETTERS TO THE CHURCH. Now the church is in a series BECOMING. LETTERS TO THE CHURCH asked the question what and this series tells the how; how do we become an OVERCOMING church.
You could feel the presence of GOD in the worship before the preaching.
Pastor Paula Farmer preached the 9 a.m. Service and Pastor Mike Addison preached on THE FAMILY from Acts 2:41-47. The family is this is something close to both pastors heart.
God established the family before the church. God made man and woman He gave them work to do. Everyone has work they need to do.
The family is made up of a body 1 Corinthians 12:12-27. Every person is needed just like every body part is needed.
You can not do life alone. People are the most lonely because they are not connected Ecclesiasiastess 4 your body is needed.
Life is meant to be done in circles with connection not in rows. You need people in your life you can call when you have rough times Galatians 6:1-3.
When life is hard you need THE FAMILY. When life is good you need THE FAMILY. Life is going to be messy and you are going to need THE FAMILY.
For some people church family is the only family they have. The family is the greatest institution. It is time to become the a community.
It is time everyone set aside time to get in the Word, pray, and LIVE A SPIRIT FILLED LIFE. Week one was becoming challenge BE INTENTIONAL and week two was BECOMING A CHURCH OF THE WORD and week three was BECOMING A PEOPLE OF PRAYER and week four was BECOMING A PEOPLE OF SPIRIT FILLED LIFE or PEOPLE OF WORSHIP and week five BECOMING PEOPLE OF FREEDOM and week six was BECOMING A COMMUNITY.
