Imagine it is election season and candidates are running for local office in London ad Laurel County, Ky. Who do you choose to represent you? The election is on May 19, 2026 and polls are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“I have served in law enforcement for over four decades and as Sheriff of Laurel County, Ky.,” Sheriff Root said. “I have the proven leadership and experience needed to continue serving as Sheriff.”
When there is good leadership by the police department people will want to come to your county and visit the county.
“Ever since December of 2024 when Doug Harless was shot and killed by the city police London, Ky has had a bad name,” Sheriff Root said. “We need better leadership in our city.”
Sheriff Root is someone has the experience needed to keep Laurel County moving in the right direction. Under his leadership drug crime has went down; as he is one ho goes after drug offenders to keep our streets safe.
“The badge never comes off I serve 365 days a year 24hours a day seven days,” Sheriff Root said.”This is the most contentious campaign yet and because of the problems in the city.”
If we are united we still stand and make our community safe for the next generation and if we are divided we will fail the next generation.
“If re-elected as sheriff I will focus on on healing the divided community,” Sheriff Root said. “Our community needs healing and that can only come through prayer in Jesus name.”
In just a few weeks the primary will be over and get back to business instead of politicking as the race is never done.
“I have proven leadership and experience needed to continue to serve as sheriff of Laurel County, Kentucky,”Sheriff Root said. “My opponents do not have the experience needed for this role as it is more than a job tittle.”
