Imagine it is election season and candidates are running for local office in London ad Laurel County, Ky. Who do you choose to represent you? The election is on May 19, 2026 and polls are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“I have served in law enforcement for over 40 years,” Sheriff Root said. “Under my leadership we are taking down major drug dealers. “
When there is good leadership by the police department people will want to come to your county and visit the county. No one wants to come to London and Laurel County, Ky. the city as a bad name.
“Ever since December of 2024 when Doug Harless was shot and killed by the city police London, Ky has had a bad name,” Sheriff Root said. “We need better leadership in our city.”
Under Sheriff Root crime has went down as he is a man who has gone after drug dealers and wants to make sure streets safe for our children.
“Drug dealers target our children at school aged that is why me and the deputies visit schools and we deputize young school age children,” Sheriff Root said.
Sheriff Root is a man who has an open door policy the citizens of Laurel County can meet with him and discuss issues. He is some one who is very accessible.
“My badge does not come off I am your sheriff 365 days a year 24 hours a day seven days a week, Sheriff Root said. “I have had the same cell phone number for over 20 years and the people who want to contact me can contact me.”
If we are united we still stand and make our community safe for the next generation and if we are divided we will fail the next generation.
“I am a person of faith and I am a man of outstanding character,“ Sheriff Root said. “My faith guides my life and my faith is very important to me.”
On May 19th vote to re-elect Sheriff John Root as he is a man for the people.
