SECOND CHANCES
(London, Ky.)
Everyone in life deserves a second chance! On Thursday December 12th Democrat Andy Beshear fulfilled a promise and gave people who served their time their right to vote back. Unfortunately, former republican Governor Matthew Bevin handed out pardon on his way out of office to people donated to his campaign and others with no basic for the pardon. Governor Bevin is now under investigation.
Drugs narcotics opioids abuse is a number one cause most people are in prison today. It is funny you do not put people in prison for having or performing an abortion, now the law in Alabama; however if get caught with drugs they go to prison. Drugs fog up a person’s mind while people are always looking for next high they do not realize the cost of high they are on.
Drugs are easily accessible in prison. There are many who are forgotten in prisons; there are some people who are not forgotten. One of the unforgotten people is Cora Wilson. She was on drugs for and it has costed her family and her life. Now she is off drugs and a Christian she has not got wrote up the whole time she has been in prison.
Wilson reached out to a friend she made when lived at Dogwood Hills apartments in London, Ky.. This friend who had lost a best friend in 2009 and had accidentally blocked her calls thinking it was a robocall or another drug abuser, however Wilson and this friend has been talking to her regularly.
While every inmate deserves a second chance in life many people need to prove they deserve it. Wilson has not forgotten this friend and her family has forgotten her.
True friends are hard to come by if God can forgive her society should to however sadly society does not forgive the forgivable people. Prison is good for some people it provides structure it also opens people’s eyes. Everyone in life deserves a second chance in life and not everyone gets a second chance in life. Governor Bevin is a baby’s true friend and a true father. He has gave kids a chance to live and be with a family. However Governor Bevin Gave certain criminals a pardon; criminals who had disciplinary reports, but he stands by his pardons
No one is perfect. Cora Wilson has made her mistakes she has learned from her mistakes now off drugs and has a clear head. Prison has really opened Cora Wilson’s eyes.
If you want to write Governor andy beshear the address is 200 Capital Avenue, suite 100 Frankfort, Ky. 40601 or Office of Governor attm office of general counsel 200 Capitol Avenue Frankfort, Ky. 40601.
There is person who deserves a second chance is Cora Wilson. There are a number of people that deserve a second chance, however if you knew Cora on drugs and now you would see how much she has changed. Cora is unrecognizable now. Cora’s eyes have been opened. It is sad it takes prison to change people and open their eyes. Cora deserves a second chance and to be pardoned out of prison.
The prison held Wilson’s pardon application and it did not have time to get reviewed. However on imagine if you were told on August 27th by JON PARK executive director of constituent services Governor Bevin had her application and he did not have it.
For everyone to want “rid of Bevin” voters had another option in the primary that was Goforth and Hogan there was 2 other candidates; however Goforth funded his campaign with his own money and went to all 120 counties.
There is a new Kentucky Governor one who does what he says and gives people a second chance.
